My sketchbook has been digitized at the Brooklyn Art library for the Sketchbook Project!! Check it out!! Promise it’s not a waste of time it called Do you know your ABC’s?! Let me know your thoughts! I’m super pumped for it!

So they say that the first step is admittance when you’ve fallen off the bandwagon. And I have to admit that I have in terms of staying up to date with my creative musings. The last couple months have been a whirlwind. I’m slowly developing my own style and my own technique. We copy the masters because they had a knowledge and a skill level that we want to achieve. This being said.. the first four photos are of studies. I’m really interested in patterns and textures and geometry and it shows in my work.

JUNE 2011

After graduating from Mount Allison University, I know that being creative is necessary for my sanity. I want to cover my walls with murals, collect art supplies, learn new methods, keep lists of all the ideas that I want to try. Part of my blog will be updates to the “creative happenings” in my life. My friend @beejaedee and I have the goal to keep each other inspired. So here is my attempt at doing so. Posts I make will be under the category of “Pencil Pals”.

  1. “Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful…” Tom Robbins

Saw this quote and it made me think of art work in general. I think you have to have a playful quality to be creative and enjoy your creative side. Love the birds! I see a rug there – can’t wait until we can try a pattern out.
